Not only food safety is at risk. I would also campaign for humane treatment of animals prior to processing to ensure that no animals suffer by transportation through Toronto. According to CBC's Agenda, our Toronto highways are the most over crowded in the world. Yet we continue to haul live animals to slaughter through heavy traffic in decrepit unsafe vehicles amidst race car driving roadways. Last summer, three accidents occurred, two of which were from the same company. All live animals should be humanely dispatched. We are like a third world country, driving chickens live on the back of a bike!

I have been complaining about this for years. I get more backlash from food sellers, than help from the government to increase inspections and to at least temporarily shut down food sellers that are not attentive to the safety of the food they sell.
